The rules we follow, written in plain English.
Reviews
- Only customers who sent a request to a pro, or booked them, through HelloPros can review that pro.
- We never filter or hide reviews because they are negative.
- We don't copy reviews or star ratings from other websites, and we don't write or buy reviews. We follow the FTC rule on fake reviews.
- Pros can reply publicly to any review.
Your phone number
- Before you send a request, we show you which pros (up to 4) will get it, and you agree to be contacted by them.
- Pros see the job, postcode, timing and budget first. Your name and number are shared only after a pro accepts.
- We never sell your details.
Badges
“Licensed”, “Insured” and “Background checked” badges appear only after we have checked the pro's documents or a background check has come back clear. Listings that a business owner hasn't claimed yet are marked “Unclaimed”. Always confirm a license for work your state requires it for.
Sponsored pros
Pros can pay to be shown higher. Paid placements are always labelled “Sponsored”, and at most one sponsored pro is included in any request.
HelloPros Protection on paid tasks
When you post a task and pay through HelloPros, we hold your payment. The pro is paid only after you confirm the job is done, or 7 days after they mark it finished if you don't raise a problem. If something goes wrong, open a dispute from your task page and our team will review it.
Reporting a problem
If a pro behaves badly or a listing looks wrong, tell us through the contact page. We can suspend pros who break our rules.
